Safety Planning

Abuse is never okay. But it can often be difficult, even scary, to leave an abusive situation, especially if you have children and pets. Whether you are currently in an abusive situation, you know your situation better than anyone else. Trust your instincts and weigh your options before taking any steps.

Creating a safety plan is something you can do to help minimize your and your children’s risks of being hurt by your current or former partner. One size does not fit all when it comes to safety planning. A safety plan should be personal to you and your situation.
